BC CRAFT BEER MONTH OCTOBER 1 – 31

Thirty-one days of celebration with special events, new releases, tastings, tap takeovers, beer dinners, and more…

While our days are getting shorter and patio season is over, October is a great month to celebrate all that is BC Craft Beer. It’s the month of fresh hops, cranberries, squash, and pumpkins among just a few of the bountiful crops that are harvested.

HAPPENINGS IN OCTOBER!

A bit of history…

With all the new American, European, and Southern Hemisphere beers coming into the market, several of us, including CAMRA BC  members (Campaign for Real Ale) felt that there was a real need to help promote BC’s finest. But, not just a week, but for a WHOLE MONTH of celebrations!!!

We made it official, applied to the BC Government and the month of October was chosen. On October 1st, 2011, the proclamation was received.

In 2015, the BC Craft Brewers Guild and BC Craft Beer Month formed a partnership to leverage and promote the celebration of BC Craft beer in October, starting off with the inaugural BC Hop Fest and Canada’s FIRST Fresh Beer Festival.
